7 dont's after a meal

Don't smoke-Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of   cancer is higher).

Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal.

Don't drink tea -
Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid.This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.

Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted &blocked.

Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease.  This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.
Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

Cold Water & Heart Attack…

Saw this email…. so gotta SHARE!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Drinking cold water after meal = Cancer !
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal.
However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed.
It will slow down the digestion.
Once this “sludge” reacted with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer.
It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A Serious note about Heart Attacks
HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE”: (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!)
Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.
Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep.
Let's be careful and be aware.
The more we know, the better chance we could survive…
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.
Read this…..It could save your life!!
Let's say it's 6.15 pm and you're driving home .
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to
radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw.
You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.
You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not
tell you how to perform it on yourself.
“HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE”:
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.
In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!! “
Knitted Breasts
Knitted breasts help new mothers
A hospital needing a cheaper alternative to fake breasts has begun knitting its own.
The woolly breasts are being used at Liverpool Women's Hospital to show new mothers how to breastfeed and how to express milk if necessary.
Kate McFadden, the hospital's infant feeding co-ordinator, has already knitted several and has called in the services of her mother, a keen knitter.
The breasts are produced in a variety of skin shades by community midwife teams to demonstrate how milk should be expressed, particularly for premature babies being kept in hospital.
Ms McFadden told BBC News: “We have a regional neo-natal unit and we encourage new mothers to express milk to help the small and sick babies.
Expensive models
“When we first put an e-mail appeal out to everyone in the trust, there were a fair few messages being sent back.
“But they are vital to us and are a low-cost, simple teaching tool.” Ms McFadden sourced the breast pattern from the Lactation Consultants' Association.
She said: “You can buy model breasts, but they cost around £35 each, which is quite prohibitive, as we need about 50.”
Although community groups, including the official friends of the hospital association, have pitched in, more knitters are needed.
Wahhh.. this is quite amazing right. Clever.
Beautiful skin..
6 Steps to natural radiant and healthy skin!!
1) Vitamin power
Revitalise your skin with a regular intake of vitamins.
i. Vitamin A helps repair body tissue, prevents skin dryness and postpones ageing. Make sure you get lots of Vitamin A by supplementing your diet with milk, cheese, eggs, butter, spinach, broccoli, carrot and fish oils.
Vitamin A is fat soluble. This kind of fat gets stored in the liver, so make sure you do not have it in excess.
iiVitamin B improves circulation and skin colour. It is found in yoghurt, brown bread, wheatgerm, yeast, cereal and green leafy vegetables.
Vitamin B is water soluble, which means it can be taken daily.
iiiVitamin C helps maintain levels of collagen, a protein constituent of skin that is essential for healing the skin as well as keeping it smooth, firm and healthy-looking.
Eat lots of citrus fruits, strawberries, blackcurrants, potatoes, cabbage, broccoli and sprouts.
Vitamin C is also water soluble and can be taken on a daily basis.
2) Water, water everywhere
Water flushes out the toxins, so drink plenty of water.
Consciously make an effort to have at least eight to 12 glasses daily.
3) Sleeping beauty
Your skin, which is prone to damage during the day, is repaired as you sleep.
Some people require as much as eight to nine hours of sleep every night; others can make do with just five.
Remember, there is so substitute for sleep if you want great skin.
4) Say good-bye to stress
Stress and tension accelerate the formation of lines around your eyes and can even produce abnormal skin conditions like eczema (where the skin gets dry and itchy; it can even result in broken skin and bleeding).
So try to keep a tab on your stress levels. (ermm.. I know this can be tough for some)
5) The environment and your skin
Pollution and exposure to ultraviolet rays can harm your skin.
It's important that you use a good sunblock cream or lotion to protect your skin.
Read the instructions on your sunblock and choose one with an Sun Protection Factor (it will be given as SPF) suited for your lifestyle.
If you spend very little time outdoors, then a sunblock with SPF 15 will do.
If you spend between one to two hours continuously, then a sunblock with SPF 30 is what you need.
If your outdoor activity exceeds two hours a day, go for a sunblock with SPF 50 or more.
6) Pack those vices
Needless to say, alcohol, smoking and drugs are not really the way to having great skin.
If you are fond of any or all of these, you know why your skin looks so unhealthy.
It is okay to…
eat after 7pm if you are slping at midnight or even later. However, WHAT and HOW MUCH a person eats may be a consideration.
If you have a heavy meal late and go to bed straight away, you may experience some discomfort. Another consideration is the frequency of the late meals. If it is one off, it is not an issue. There should be no side effects. It should be the TOTAL food consumed for the day and not just the one meal that would result in any side effects.
So.. yes!! I will not feel guilty for eating after 7 or 8pm liao.. just make sure I slp late lo.. hehe
